Office Chairs - Revamped

As I have professed before - I have a thing for customizing chairs. You know, finding something unfortunate for really cheap and then making it awesome, that kind of thing and I’m happy to say, I’ve struck again! If you follow me on Instagram you may remember I picked up these two chairs from a listing on Facebook Market Place last February…They were $40 for the pair.

I was in the market for new office chairs for our home office and there was a lot I loved about these little guys - their cute shape, the price and the caning detail on the back. When we went to pick them up we noticed some of the caning was damaged. I searched around to see about having the caning repaired, but it seems that’s a lot more complicated and expensive than I had thought, so I decided I was going to view the damage as patina, like a hole a great pair of distressed denim. Once I settled my mind on that direction it was time to get them painted.

We taped off the little brass wheels and Brent set up a make-shift paint booth in our side yard and we went to work painting. The color - Cheating Heart (by Benjamin Moore) which is the same hue I used on the office cabinetry.

I had custom cushions made with this awesome leopard fabric I got at Lewis & Sheron Textiles. I could NOT wait to pop these cushions into place, and the moment did not disappoint….

Ugh, so cute right? The cushions definitely brought the personality.

And funny enough, those rips that were once problematic are now my favorite little details. Like a good pair of denim, worn in just right. And now, because before and after’s are my favorite, let’s do a side-by-side comparison.

They are the perfect little addition to my office and they scratch my chair-rehab itch….for now….
